... the rules of piglet castration?

After a giant argument I am trying to research and find out the law with relation to piglet castration. I am getting many mixed documents and want to find something up to date.

If a piglet is over 3 weeks old it must be done under anaesthetisa however I do not know how old that law is. At one point I read that castration (carried out by farmers - highly ethically wrong I know) was not practiced in the UK. I am hoping someone can confirm this?
