Animals Count political party in Leeds on 24 Feb

Postby Animals Count on Thu Feb 07, 2008 9:50 pm

For the first time since the launch of Animals Count in December 2006 we will be going up North. I will be in Leeds on Saturday 24th February, probably at Common Place around 2PM (exact time and location TBC). I hope to be giving a talk for members and supporters of Animals Count, and anyone else interested in (animal) politics.

In 2008 we will be:

1. Raising our profile (maintaining updated website; being reactive and proactive in the media; engaging celebrities; having a presence at events/fairs, etc.).
2. Recruiting members (increasing in strength).
3. Raising funds (from individuals, corporate sector and through community fundraising ideas)
4. Initiating or support local/regional/national/international campaigns, e.g. through working groups: e.g. in Leeds, York or Sheffield if there is sufficient interest.
5. (Continuing to) be in dialogue with other political parties, in order to influence their policies

In addition we are considering contesting the London Assembly Elections on May 1st, 2008. However, our main focus will be on contesting the European Parliament elections next year.

Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested in this meeting. For further details or confirmation of exact time and location, please email: info@animalscount.org. Alternatively, visit our website and go to the Events page. This should be updated by next week.

Thank you in advance and I look forward to meeting you.

Kind regards,
